So while I was in Marshalls this week not buying a cute new pair of clogs (see previous blog) I did scoop up this new little frying pan. I had never heard of the Green Pan line, but liked the idea of a green pan so thought I would give it a try. So far, I have to say, next to my trusty iron skillet, this is my favorite pan! It is awesome. Totally non-stick, cooks super fast and cooks well! I am really impressed with the pan. As far as the "green" is concerned, I am not sure I am totally convinced. The pan claims that it is a safe non-stick frying pan--no PTFE or PFOA--I like that, but not so sure about the Thermolon non-stick technology the pan does use. I haven't heard much about Thermolon, but the Green Pan site claims that it is a healthy alternative...hmmm must do more research on this one. Green Pan also claims it is manufactured responsibly. No PFOA emitted into the environment and a claim of 60% less CO2 emissions compared to PTFE coated pans. So this is all good, I guess, but what I really like and can rely on is that it makes a mean grilled cheese!
